The Sharp Blu-Ray BD-HP20U player has dropped under $350 over at Newegg. Sharp seems to be making some quality HD products like the Sharp AQUOS LCD TV’s. They appear to be some of the top of the line High definition televisions.

The Sharp BD-HP20U player provides HDMI v1.3 output and AQUOS Link Functionality. The player has some mixed reviews like other stand alone Blu-Ray players. It appears to have the benefit of a fast load time on most Blu-Ray discs. Check back for more blu-ray player deals and updates.

This week in March Target has deals on Blu-Rays. The deal is that you when you buy one, you get one free. Not a bad deal you get two Blu-Rays for $29.99 (plus tax, of course). This is only good for some selected titles on Blu-Ray.

Amazon Toshiba HD-DVD Player Deal

More deals due to Blu-Ray winning the HD battle. Amazon has the Toshiba HD-DVD Player deal for only 119.77 and eligible for free shipping with a Prime Account. The HD-DVD Player prices are dropping like crazy and if you want to get one the time is now before they are all gone.

The Toshiba HD-DVD Player is model number HD-A3. The reviews are mostly positive (4 out of 5 stars). The description says it comes with both movies 300 and Bourne Supremacy on HD-DVD. The player will also do upconverting for your standard definition DVD’s.

The biggest down side to this Toshiba HD player is that it only does an output of 1080i/720p. But if you are looking for a decent deal before HD-DVD goes away forever then this isn’t a bad one. Amazon also has greats deals and prices on other HD-DVD movies.

New Sony Blu-Ray Players Coming Soon

It has been announced finally that there will be new Sony Blu-Ray Players coming soon. The new models are going to be the BDP-S350 and BDP-S550. The S350 should be hitting stores in the Summer of 2008. Shortly after the S550 will be coming out.

It has been awhile since there was announcements on new Sony Blu-Ray players, so this will give us something to look forward. There have definitely been many debates as far as what is the best Blu-Ray players on the market. Currently one of the best deals on Blu-Ray players is still the Sony Playstation 3. Not only do you get games but also great HD in the Blu-Ray drive.

XBOX 360 HD Deal

Since HD-DVD lost the battle to Sony’s Blu-Ray format, now comes news that Microsoft will discontinue the HD Add-on player that goes with the Xbox 360 gaming system. Over at Slickdeals.net they show that Best Buy (and others) will be selling the HD Player for around $50.

Not only do you get the player but you also get 6 free HD-DVDs that come with it. Not a bad deal if you’re looking for something that is a step up from your average DVD player.

We expect to see more great deals on HD Players and hopefully some price drops for the Blu-Ray Players. Hurry if you don’t want to miss this Xbox 360 HD Player deal.

Sony KDS-60A2020 HDTV Review

The Sony KDS-60A2020 HDTV is part of the SXRD series. This 60″ HDTV provides a nice clear picture with very good colors. The Sony TV provides 2 HDMI inputs and 2 Component Video inputs which should provide enough inputs for most home theater enthusiasts.

The lamp on the TV should last you approx. 8,000 hours, which isn’t all that bad. The good thing about the lamp replacement is that is very easy to replace the unit.

The only cons that I could find for the Sony KDS-60A2020 is some fan noise coming from the back, but that is only if you have the TV’s volume very low or muted. Also it can take about 15-20 seconds before the TV kicks on, a little slower then some other LCD models.

If you are looking for a great deal Sam’s Club carried this model for just around $1800 with a matching Sony stand. Overall it’s a great price and value for a big brand name HDTV. I definitely recommend the Sony KDS-60A2020.
